Down the highway the man rode
Intent on thoughts
His goal his abode
This trip made numerous nights
Deer flashes in headlight
Man swerved to avoid
Disasterous plight
No wish life to destroy
The reward a hoax
In the crash life lost.
God’s little joke;
Humane cruel cost.

Flapjack the Clown
The clown appeared, what a sight!
Excited children made no sound.
Suddenly screams of delight,
As he spun round and round.
Tipping hat, jumping up and down
Performing a different antic.
This marvelous clown.
So very fantastic!
He smiled at the crowd
The laughing faces looking back
Made him so proud
This clown named FlapJack.

Happy New Year
I proclaim a new year
Declared a King
The last ended with a tear
I noticed not a thing
Mood too painful to bear
New Year is in Spring
My mind is clear
A song to baby I still sing
Self-respect does reappear
Alas no mocking bird no ring
Anxiety to disappear
Reality leaves a sting
Reclaiming self-esteem I swear
Letting go I will not cling
This will be A Happy Year
A gift to myself I do bring

To: The Child I Raised
Raising Baby to Walk
The Child runs away
Chasing the kid
Someday never again to stray
Raising Baby to Talk
The Child is too loud
Quieting the kid
Someday listening makes you proud
Raising Baby to be confident
The child is not careful
Cautioning the kid
Someday very thoughtful
Raising Baby to be Independent
The Child is absent
Missing the Kid
Someday there may be self-content
